The Heart of a Champion & Fighting Spirit: A Father's Day Reflection

Hanging with the real champ on Father's Day.

As a little boy, I can remember waking up before daylight & seeing my dad, dressed in his sweats, gearing up for a run.
The refrigerator opens. Out comes 6 eggs, cracked into a glass, & he downs them all in one gulp. So I asked him, "What are you doing, Dad?"
"I'm training, Mike."
"Training for what?"
"My next boxing match."

Little did I know, my Dad was a boxer here in Louisville, Kentucky, even going toe-to-toe with one of the local greats, Greg Page.

Regardless of what people say, the heart of a champion & fighting spirit is hereditary, & trust me...I got it honest. Love ya, Dad. Happy Father's Day.
