Due to the overwhelming demand from pro wrestling fans, promoters, & participants in the state of Kentucky, Governor Andy Beshear & the KBWC announced on September 8th that the state has reopened to professional wrestling & other combat sporting events.
Although the state & health officials continue to caution against large crowds, they made the decision to not prohibit professional wrestling events. I would consider that a win for wrestling fans & pro wrestlers alike.
I strongly encourage all promoters & wrestlers to adhere to recommendations regarding social distancing & face masks in an effort to prevent the spread of disease, & to protect fans and all participants.
Even though I am not a big fan of rules & regulations, I am a big fan of the sport of WRESTLING. If the last 6 months have taught us anything, it's that we need to protect the things we value most. If we don't adhere, wrestling in the state of Kentucky can go away again. Let's all do our part to ensure that doesn't happen.
